Day 1: Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, National Gallery

The trip to London is going to be filled with British culture.
With the London Pass we got, we can enter a lot of different buildings/musea and skip a lot of lines.
On day one, we're visiting Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and the National Gallery.

Before throwing the whole planning online, the names might or might not ring a bell, so here are some pictures!

Where to stay?

It was quite difficult to find a cheap place to stay near London. Especially for big groups, finding accommodation is not easy.
We found a place called "Queens hotel", which is a pretty cheap and well rated hotel for groups of students. It's very popular.
Although we have to take the tube to get to the city of London, this was the best option we could find on different sites.

The total price for four days for 18 people is €1569, which brings the price per person per day to only €21.80.
Each student (and teacher) will pay €87.20 for accommodation on this trip.

Travelcards for groups: 7 days unlimited travelling

On the website of visit Britain, you can find travel cards for the tube. We will be taking the tube every once in a while, so that's why I decided to get travel cards for everybody.
These tickets can be used to get on all the public transportation.

€73 per person for the whole of this trip. With this ticket we're able to travel from zone 1-6.

How to get to London

Since this task is fiction and I have no idea where my school would be located, I suggested leaving from Brussels, but hiring a bus to bring us there is not a big problem.
On Monday the 8th of May we leave in Brussels around 8.52 am to go to London St Pancras. We arrive there one hour later, around 9.57.
The hotel is located close to the St Pancras international and it only takes 13 minutes for us to get there.

We put away our stuff, grab only the necessary and after freshening up, we're ready to go! The students get the chance everyday to go purchase something to eat, so before we get to the Buckingham Palace, they can go around the neighbourhood and explore really quickly.
